The unique, architectural picture of Torgau‘s preserved old town shows pictorially the development of Torgau du- ring its renaissance flowering period. At the beginning of the 19th century, Hartenfels Castle became part of the Saxon-Napoleonic fortress and later Prussian barracks. Today it is a monument of international standing and place for significant exhibitions, history and culture.
